 Shared Services Minimize

Shared services save taxpayer dollars while providing thorough and efficient services.  The Bridge Commission, working in collaboration with the Burlington County Board of Chosen Freeholders, has been instrumental in bringing together Burlington County municipalities, fire districts, and school districts—and has realized tangible results from its efforts to provide assistance to our neighboring towns in the shared services area.

What We Do / What We've Done:

  • Shared Services Forums
  • Storm Water Management Plans
  • Salt Storage Facility Sharing

"Shared Services bring property tax relief."

-John B. Comegno, II
 Chairman

Shared Services Forums:

  • Where municipal and other officials—including police and fire districts, educational institutions—meet, obtain information, and share ideas
  • Feature highly qualified, experienced, and knowledgeable speakers
  • Highlight the latest, cutting-edge, exciting topics of interest
    • Past topics have included storm water management, cooperative purchasing agreements, and fiscal impacts of development and redevelopment
  • Offer participants Continuing Education Credits at no cost for government professionals (e.g., CFOs, municipal clerks, tax collectors, public works, treasurers)
  • Held approximately 6 times each year
  • Open to members and non-members at no cost

The more than 33 Shared Services Forums we’ve hosted have drawn more than 1,300 attendees from almost 40 municipalities in Burlington County as well as municipalities outside the County.

Share your feedback, thoughts, requests about past or future Shared Services Forum Meetings via our short survey.

Shared Services Forums hosted by the Commission have become known throughout the State as the most informative, organized, and well-attended gatherings...

Storm Water Management Plans
We developed and provided—at no cost to our 40 municipalities—storm water management plans to help relieve the significant financial burdens imposed upon municipalities by State regulatory requirements.

Estimated cost savings of providing these plans is more than $100,000 per municipality

Salt Storage Facility Sharing
We facilitated Riverside, Delanco, and Delran joining with one another to share a salt storage facility, saving these townships $350,000.
