Bridge Information » Water Level & Meteorological Readings » Online Readings
 Online Readings Minimize

The readings currently being obtained at the Commission’s Tacony-Palmyra Bridge Pier F D/S and the Burlington-Bristol Bridge Pier 6 D/S for the Physical Oceanographic Real-Time System Project (PORTS®) of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) are now available online at the NOAA website and also through a standard dial-up telephone connection.

The readings for the Delaware River and Bay are automatically taken every six (6) minutes. However, from time to time, some readings may not be available due to technical difficulties, equipment malfunction, etc.

How to access the data:

Online:

  • Access data on Tacony-Palmyra Bridge or Burlington-Bristol Bridge (referred to by its NOAA designation, "Burlington Highway Bridge")
  • For the Tacony-Palmyra Bridge, the "Physical Oceanographic Real-Time System" options are:
    • All Water Level (which includes predicted and observed water levels at Tacony-Palmyra Bridge, water levels at Burlington-Bristol Bridge, and water levels at Newbold)
    • 3 Days WL/Met (which provides Tacony-Palmyra Bridge 3 Days Water Levels and Meteorology) 
  • For the Burlington-Bristol Bridge (referred to by its NOAA designation, "Burlington Highway Bridge"), the “Physical Oceanographic Real-Time System” options are:
    • All Water Level (which includes predicted and observed water levels at Tacony-Palmyra Bridge, water levels at Burlington-Bristol Bridge, and water levels at Newbold)
    • 3 Days WL/Met (which provides Burlington Highway Bridge 3 Days Water Levels and Meteorology) which includes Water Level, Winds, Barometric Pressure, Air/Water Temperature at Burlington-Bristol Bridge
    • All Met (which includes all meteorological data for 8 stations: Newbold, Burlington-Bristol Bridge, Philadelphia, Delaware City, Ship John Shoal Light, Brandywine Shoal Light, Cape May, Lewes)
    • All CT (which includes current Salinity, Specific Gravity, and Water Temperature for Brandywine Shoal Light, Ship John Shoal Light, Burlington-Bristol Bridge, Marcus Hook)
    • 3 Days CT (which includes Salinity, Specific Gravity, and Water Temperature for Burlington-Bristol Bridge) for current day and previous two days 
  • A text-based PORTS® Screen is also available.

Dial-Up Telephone Line:

  • Call 1-866-307-6787.
  • When prompted, press 2 for Delaware River Stations.
  • When prompted, press 1 for Water Level Data, 2 for Current Data, 3 for Meteorological Data, 4 for Water Temperature Data, or 5 for Water Density Information.
